well it happened. i ran it. i finished it. it was really really hard. it started out as a bummer because they changed the location and wouldnt allow people to run the full marathon (i will post another all about this with pictures and whatnot). Long story short i had to run the marathon alone, in elevation (2000m), with 12% grade hills, on a course with 10 laps. (enough with the excuses hannon). Aside from that it was amazing and met some excellent people. The next post will go into more detail, but to answer the most pressing question: Did you beat oprah? Yes. Like Diddy, this was my goal. After some further research i also found out that i beat Freddie Prinz Jr, David Lee Roth, Lynn Swann, Mario Lopez, Al Gore and the guy from Jag. And a list with Slater on it is nothing to shake a stick at. Now lets check out the list of celebs that beat me: Diddy, George Bush, John Edwards, the guy from RoboCop (reppin Detroit so im not too upset about this), the mom from Family Ties, Michael Dukakis...and Kerri Strugg. Well you know what "darling of Atlanta 96", i dont really know all the rules, and not to be a sore loser, but there were definitely some times when i wish Bela Karolyi would have carried me. also notable runners who smoked me: Alan Mylnek, William Baldwin, Po, Will Ferell, and Clarence "the wrecking ball" Thomas to name a few of the many. Will i run another? Probably not so it looks like 4:17 is gonna be the posted time for the hanman. If anyone does in fact post it, they should tack on about 11 minutes just because i referred to myself as the hanman.
