So here’s the skinny on what I will be doing with my life for the next two years – The Peace Corps as set up by JFK in 1961 aim to assist people in interested countries to meet their need for trained men and women; promote a better understanding of the American people on the part of the people served; and promote a better understanding of other people on the part of the American people. “…it will not be easy. None of you will earn a salary. You will be at the same level as the citizens of the country to which you are being sent.
