Wedding/ Prom

I recently attended a wedding which was really interesting because it was a cousin of my host family and so i was involved in all the family roles. This included some of the traditional meeting and drinking with the grooms family where there is a ceremony of giving earrings. Also i was invited to ride along in the "guliating", or the caravan of cars that drive around with the couple's limo going to various relgious places (Mausoleums, burial grounds, airports etc). I know how much Kazakhs love to eat at parties so in preperation i didnt eat for the entire day. After a few beers i thought i might regret my decision but when it was finally table time...Hannon went to town. Along with our wedding party, there were many others doing the "guliating" so at all the stops were lots of other people and other bride and grooms. It was fun to see, but they get married so early here it sort of just reminded me of prom. Except of course there was no lanky man in a tiny miata, and i didnt have a date who hated me.

*just kidding Mary, i couldnt imagine a better prom and i will make it up to you some day. Also tell your mom to get well soon and put down some of those sticky feet pads.
