So now I have been at Ainalain for about a month and have started to develop a sense of direction. By the end of December I will be working with an Internet club, English/American Culture club, Guitar club; coaching basketball; teaching English; and developing a youth volunteer initiative. This volunteer project is probably my favorite. We have 5 classes that are learning how to volunteer in various capacities. For example the seventh grade class is learning about environmental awareness and is beginning a community beautification and trash pick up campaign. The 9th graders are spending their time learning how to work with the disabled. This picture is of some of our girls doing exercises with one of the children. In a couple of months we hope to send these classes to other schools to disseminate motivation and knowledge to get more classes involved.
